Alice in Wonderland Party
The Alice in Wonderland theme was what my team chose for the 2016 version of Mcgill’s annual winter carnival. We had 70 university students running around Montreal wearing these Cheshire cat onesies in the dead of winter. We were competing in a variety of activities over the course of the week to try to earn the most points. Sadly, our team did not win the overall winter carnival competition. There’s no way to articulate this without coming across like the kid who is bragging about how cool they were in high school, but at the end of this week, I won the carnival lifetime achievement award. It’s awarded to one person every year to recognize them for being a veteran of Mcgill’s party culture. Carnival is a party that has been happening for over 70 years, and McGill is in the top 10 party universities in the world according to Playboy, so (as lame as it is to admit) I am very proud that I was recognized as MVP of partying from such a credible organization.
